Who checks these prices
I’m Jesse. I built PayrollDecision, and I review every price on it before it goes live.
When I went looking for a payroll service, comparing them was far more complicated than it needed to be. I knew there had to be a better way, so I built this site for myself and my business partners. Now I hope it saves you time too.
How the prices are checked
- Every price is read from the provider’s own pricing page, never from another comparison site. The exact wording and the date it was checked are recorded with it.
- Each provider page shows when its prices were last verified and links to the page they came from.
- Prices are re-checked every month. If one goes more than 45 days without a re-check, any total that uses it is marked lower confidence and says how old it is. After 90 days, the site can’t be updated until it’s checked again.
- If a provider doesn’t publish a price, the site says so and shows no number. Nothing is estimated.
What PayrollDecision is and isn’t
PayrollDecision is a free calculator covering 12 US payroll providers. It doesn’t run payroll, and it doesn’t sell anything. You don’t need an email or an account to see results.
How the site makes money
Some providers pay a referral fee when someone signs up through a link here. Right now that’s OnPay and Patriot Payroll. Results are ranked by estimated annual cost before any links are added, so a referral fee never changes the order. The details are in the affiliate disclosure.
Found a wrong price?
Pricing pages change, and I’d rather hear about it than be wrong. Every price on the site links to the page it came from, so you can always check it yourself.
